You know my L28E that came out of my car would have plenty of power for a lemons car if you just swapped a carb on to it right ? I'd be willing to give you a epic price ... close to 0 dollars ..

lolol. I think I'm finally going to put an offer in on the 2002 across the street from me. Hold onto that motor though...

I tried buying a square tail a week or two ago. NFS. I asked him if it was really going to work on it and told him I could have cash in hand by the end of the day. No such luck buying a car that had set there for 3 years and had rotted tires :( I wanted to save it.

The 2002 across the street from me is a former Lemons car that these guys bought after it hadn't raced in a couple years. They worked on it like twice and then haven't touched it since. It's been sitting there for like year now, exposed to the elements. I know they only paid $1000 for it, I'm hoping the cage is still good...

Oh, I want a driver. Just something I can 1/2 way restore while I drive it.

WHY DID YOU POST THAT TYPE 3?!
Oh my gosh. The feels. THE FEELS! I need another Bunnywagen.

Ad is only a day old, only asking $950. You up for a 2 car lemons team?

Heh, I think the 944 might go run PCA and/or other stuff if that happened. This... THIS is a LeMons car!

Chump 944, Lemons Type 3?
![]() 02/19/2014 at 09:46 |

A multitude of crappiness for every want and need.
I'd need to source a 914 engine for the back of that 'lump, though. Type 3s are good and well, but ours liked more powah.

Is the 914 that crashed at H2R dead?

Mount this in the back seat.

Ha! That'd rip the back wheels off.
![]() 02/19/2014 at 10:04 |

Which one?
Prolly not. One of my friends apparently put his on the side when it was muddy out. Meh, no care, flip the VW back over and keep rollin'.

The one that t-boned the miata a couple of weekends ago at turn 11. Front end was pretty trashed.
![]() 02/19/2014 at 12:41 |
|
Ohhhhh.
See, this is why it's stupid to put an engine in the front. Had the Miata done the boning...tsk, tsk, that's engine damage, too.
I didn't see it, but I'll bet it's okay after they hammer out the suspension bits. If not, can I have that motor and tranny set? Haha.

You should ask someone at H2R. DJ didn't think it was salvagable but they might try to fix it.
In the mean time I'm trying to decide why this would be a bad idea, other than the fact that you don't get the lulz of building a terrible car...

Heh, Mitsus don't have the best reliability record in LeMons, but...ooooooh. Sorted car.
Make sure the build itself doesn't suck first, though. Especially the cage.

I'm trying to figure out when it last ran Lemons. Three top 10 finishes out of 4 races seems like it should be pretty well sorted though. It's very tempting, very tempting...

Things are moving very quickly. Maybe too quickly. This car might be mine by this weekend. Already assembling a team...

Hahahahahahaha. Lulz.

The more I talk to this guy the better I feel about the car though. They added a ton of reliability mods. Oil cooler, aux engine cooler, fuel cooler, baffled fuel tank, all new engine bearings, new oil pump, new timing belt, polished bottom end, new fuel pump. All new gaskets. It sat for 2.5 years and started the first time with a jump, ran on the alternator after it started.
Certainly an easier starting point than a 944...

Looks like the Type 3 is already gone :(

I usually avoid northern cars, but rust! It adds lightness.

The advantage of a place like montana is that they don't use salt there...because it's too cold for salt.

HOLY CRAP, IT'S ROAD TRIP TIME.
Also, you can haz pickup Saturday morning?
